Deep South DH Workshop: Sharing your digital collections Online

Join us for a hands-on workshop to learn about accessible ways to scan, upload, and share your own collections online. You may attend all sessions, or choose those that are relevant to you (the link will be the same). We will be joined by University of Idaho librarians from the Collection Builder team for the afternoon sessions.

Workshop schedule (tentative):

8:00 - 9:00: Open office hours 

9:00 - 12:00: Introduction to Preparing Digital Collections

Discussion about digital collections - 9:00 - 10:15

Please bring a scan or an object (a photograph, a diary, a letter, etc.) you'd like to add to an online space.

Preparing digital collections - 10:30 - 12:00

Discussion and hands-on practice with digital object creation and description

12:00  - 1:00 break for lunch, open office hours

1:00 - 4:00: Introduction to Sharing Digital Collections with CollectionBuilder

Post workshop:

In the weeks following the workshop, we will host open office hours from 1:00 - 2:30 on Friday afternoons to troubleshoot and continue building attendants’ digital collections. The meetings will serve as continued training and establish support for the ongoing projects and assist participants with publishing their collections online.
